SAN FRANCISCO SIGHTSEEING

San Francisco Sightseeing - There are so many things to do and one of your first stops should be a ride on the cable car. Then head on down to Fisherman’s Warf and shop and dine along the waterfront. A trip to San Francisco wouldn’t be complete without a drive on Lombard Street to see those sharp s-curves in the roadway. Then it’s on to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Take your camera to capture just some of the essence of this fantastic city.

There is a great 49-mile scenic drive with extraordinary scenery so be sure to take the time to travel it. You’ll find numerous museums and theatres in the San Francisco area, so be sure to take some time to see as many as you can.

However you plan to spend your time in San Francisco you can be sure you’ll enjoy it tremendously. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because there can be quite a bit of walking, but it’s worth all the effort. San Francisco is a city that has so much to offer you.

One of the first thing you should do when visiting San Francisco. Ride the cable cars. Toss your head back take a deep breath and see city from the cable car.

Cable Car Museum

After the Cable Car ride visit this museum. It’s interesting to learn all about the beginnings of the cable car.

Fisherman’s Warf

Another fantastic place to visit while in San Francisco is the Fisherman's Warf. There is Venetian Carousel at Pier 39 for you to ride on and plenty of great places to dine and shop. Spend the day strolling and browsing the shops. You’ll be glad you did.

Lombard Street

Be sure you make your way to the “Crookedest Street in the World.” It is called Lombard Street and is a very interesting piece of roadway that you’ll want to take a ride on. Hard to believe it.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden gate bridge is longer than a mile and that it is the longest suspension-type bridge in the world. Take a lot of pictures of the beautiful view of San Francisco that you will have on it but also take a pic of this icon of San Francisco.

Alcatraz Island

Go and visit Alcatraz, partly because you can go on a ferry that leaves regularly. This is a night trip on the water and you also can take in a lot of sights as you go along. It goes about every thirty minutes (forty-five minutes in the winter) so you don’t have to wait long. There are also San Francisco Bay Cruises that go right round Alcatraz if you don’t want to get off and explore.

At Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum you’re going to see some very interesting things. You’ll want to spend some time in this museum so plan it into your trip. You’ll be glad you did.

California Academy of Sciences

Want an interesting place to see? Young and old will both love the California Academy of Sciences and the younger ones particularly love the interactive exhibits. There is so much to see in this museum, including a colony of penguins and an aquarium.

Japanese Tea Garden

The Japanese Tea Garden is on 5 acres of land. The scenery is very nice as you’ll see and there is a miniature waterfall on the grounds - here you’ll have a feeling of tranquility. It’s just beautiful.
